"Can I Help You?"
This wondrous bird gave me the stair down!
We call these shiny colourful feathers "iridescent" - as the bird will flare up, to express a feeling of defense, as another contender flies by the prospective perch.
I was at least 10 feet back, and of zero concern to the bird, so my lucky horseshoe was in my back pocket with this shot. My guess is that he was demonstrating to another bird, and I just happened to be at the best possible angle for the nasty look.
My apologies to everyone, the last post /image was a hummingbird called the purple-throated mountain gem., so I will go back now to correct my mistake. Thanks to everyone for over 400,000 views!
Best wishes, and safe travels!
