Owl Lift Off! + Raptors Workshops
This short-eared owl took off looking for a vole in the snow yesterday evening, while my daughter Maria and I watched in amazement.
They hover over the snow, listen closely for the critters to squeak, then dive in to catch them for dinner. As much as 14" of snow, and they still were able to successfully find food.
We saw at least 40 dives, and at least 5 voles captured. Real nature is superb to watch and enjoy! On our return trip tonight, we did not see any owls, but enjoyed the challenge, and very happy with what we have seen this past winter.
This weekend.. 3 Raptor in Flight workshops here in Ontario, Canada, still room in each one for you! Email - firstname.lastname@example.org
Please enjoy and respect nature.
