Night, Land and City Scapes
Up close and personal!
I think the Crescent moon is cool, and fun to shoot. My challenge with a shot like this is to get as much detail as possible. It is not easy with the smoke filled atmosphere. I am so sorry for those people affected by all the fires out west and around the world.
So, with the teleconverter mounted, and the A7r4 sensor on 1.5x magnification, I gave it a try. Manual focus works great, as through the viewfinder I see a 5.9x cropped view of the craters. Fine-tuning the focus is critical.
So, I turned down the ISO and kept firing, 5-second timer, electronic shutter. F9 aperture with the TC is wide open. Then down to 1/60 second shutter speed to try to freeze the movement.
I think next time I will bump up the ISO and try for more shutter speed.
I am keeping an eye on the calendar for more interesting opportunities.
