Another fun date with my family, Daisy and Maria, took a drive with me to a beautiful garden that plays host to a handsome male Ruby-throated hummingbird.
Almost 2 hours of trading the camera and lens, hopefully a second 200-600 coming soon for Maria, we were able to come home with a few images.
This fellow is a beauty with superb feathers, and he is indeed, quite handsome!
As for the techs, I stuck my neck out on the above attempt. 5000 ISO with clean bright light straight behind me! Am I nuts? Maybe, But with 1/16,000 of a second shutter speed, and 20 frames per second, I had 7 images in this split second to choose from.
Worth the effort, and the risk, imo!
Maybe another try later this week. I might try 1/32,000 of a second.
