Hungry East African Giraffe
After about 3 months of rains, these awesome animals have wonderful food supplies in a rich green environment.
It is interesting how we will never see an Acacia tree cleared of all its leaves. The trees have an amazing defense mechanism as the leaves release toxins known as tannin and ethylene, making them the leaves uneatable. The toxins also warn other trees nearby and down-breeze.
So on a windy day, the giraffes will always work their way up-wind and hope for better feeding opportunities. They also need to contend with those nasty thorns and ants that will work hard to protect the trees.
Amazing and real nature with a very smart and adaptive tree!
