Africa Photo Tours - Tanzania
Lucky for this young male he had three females to protect. Normally older males would move him aside, but the lions in this area of the south Serengeti are under threat by hunters.
The older males are lead into separated "hunting zones" to be shot by would be hunters. Now, in the areas where they should be working to support the species, the young "teenage" male lions are left with the task.
Above that, we are finding that all the leopards have disappeared. Only concluding that the hunters have taken care of them. Money in everyone's pockets, but the Ndutu region will suffer the consequences with a lack of leopard populations.
