1/3200s f/5.6 at 400.0mm iso500Beauty on the Beach!
A short tour last week to Long Island, NY to a wonderful beach colony of Black Skimmers. About 5,000 birds nesting, also Common terns, and Oystercatchers were nesting in the same area on the beach.
The nesting area is roped off, so it is a do not enter zone. For the most part, these birds are completely undisturbed.
Truly a spectacle of nature, and a very awesome success story as so many chicks had hatched, and seem to be doing very well.
Thanks to the very special and caring people of NY State for allowing these bird to continue their reproduction, only a few miles from Times Square!
Best wishes to you, please respect our natural world, leave the birds and animals to their normal life, ... sit back, enjoy, and take nice photos!

1/8000s f/5.0 at 400.0mm iso2000The pure emotion of overwhelming excitement when reviewing your old files?
Well, this shoot is not that old, less then 2 months, but going through the series of images we captured on this day got my heart racing, brings me back to this moment in time when one of my all time dreams came true.
I have had lots of these moments during my career., I have seen some incredible scenes in our world of nature. But this one was special. She is regarded as T19 - Krishna. One spectacular animal, nothing else I have seen in the world compares to her beauty. and I really mean Nothing!
Photos never do any animal justice. I use this analogy. Look through a car magazine, and see your favorite sports car, of hot-rod. Mine? A 1971 Dodge Challenger, or a 1968 Charger., seeing the image is one thing, driving it is another. (another dream)
So, face to face with this majestic animal was an experience. 4,000 shots, my wonderful 1 guest took more! We saw Krishna and her 3 cubs on at least 12 different occasions during 16 safaris. I can only hope that they are surviving well, safe, and well fed for many years to come.
So here she is, the epitome natures beauty.
KrishnaBrand New Cardinal!
We have about 6 Northern Cardinals hanging around here, and posing for the camera. Helping them get a good start with a safe environment, and a place to drink! young grackles, black capped chickadee, house finch, doves, goldfinch, and more!
If you would like a private bird photography tune up, let me know!
Nature is worth saving.
